CAN YOU IMAGINE ...?

You drive into your supermarket car park and your eye catches two, three, no... four cars with bright window stickers saying PRAYER CHANGES LIVES. Wouldn’t that make you smile? Your faith would stir and you would say to yourself, ‘Hey, they're everywhere. Praying people are everywhere!'

What do you think would happen if a lonely, seeking person kept seeing a sign or car sticker, PRAYER CHANGES LIVES? Wouldn't it make them think and possibly ask about prayer? How long before they would discover God’s loving-kindness flooding their lives because they decide to begin to pray. Can you imagine it? I can.

Don't you think something would begin to happen if people saw this sign again and again in the streets where we live? Attached to fences, posts, walls. Would it remind our neighbours that there’s more to life than self-effort and heartache; that there is a power available that can change those impossible situations?  Can you imagine it?  I can.

Can you imagine... if churches had this sign, PRAYER CHANGES LIVES - Ask us about it, in their lounges or halls, or out the front? What if a time or person’s phone number was on the sign, so they could come and receive prayer, and learn to pray themselves, to the God of all goodness? Wouldn't that begin to change our communities, and change us?  Not many people will refuse to let you pray for them. People want and often long to pray, but don't know how. They need others to pray for them and with them. They need to know there are others who can help them learn to pray. These stickers and signs will help them find you and this website will give you access to simple resources you can give them.

Please pray with me that this will flourish so that the lost will be found, the lonely will come into God’s family, the distressed will find peace, the sick will be healed… and a host of praying, believing, rejoicing people will be ready to pray with others at any time.

Opening doors

Sometimes it's not possible to develop a relationship with someone before we share the gospel. We come in contact with people every day we may never see again. A casual conversation can turn into an eternal encounter read more...

Get ready for the harvest

Most people I’ve talked to about reaching believers have said they are sowing, but not doing much reaping. They admit they can’t quite believe they will reap. What would happen if we really expected to reap a harvest, in our street, in our home, this year? What if we were ready to reap a harvest in our area? Our prayers would change, our lifestyle would change. We would have our ears and eyes open for the slightest opportunity read more...

Neighbourhood prayer - getting started

Are you calling on the real Jesus?

In those days I had the tremendous experience of sharing the gospel with hundreds of people, and it seemed that most of them experienced an immediate turnaround. But in the case of someone like Stan, someone who accepted the message without being changed afterward, I didn't really know what to do next except to share the same message again and hope that it would "take" this time..."   read more...

Pray to the Lord of the Harvest

Jesus almost without exception used the name ‘Father’ when talking about God. But when he talked to his disciples about the harvest he said “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matt.9:38) Ponder on that name, ‘The Lord of the harvest’ for a moment. What is it saying? ‘The world is God’s harvest field. He is the owner of it. He expects a great harvest.’ What a revolutionary way to look at the world read more...

A More Excellent Way - getting God's heart for our communities

I wonder if there is a temptation to just ‘grab and go’ – to grab someone else’s successful plan and get on with it, trusting it will bring the same fruitfulness? We do this because we are tired of fruitlessness and impatient to be more successful. But the great ideas of others that inspire us are not necessarily going to be the right way for our group to reach out. There is ‘a more excellent way;’ a way of showing God’s love, of demonstrating his character that particularly suits the people around us that he wants to bless. This way will not only prove more fruitful, it will shape us as a people, which is a major part of what God is about. There is a development of faith and expectation and fruitfulness that comes no other way. read more...

Developing Creditable Witnesses

It seems that after his resurrection there was one more task for Jesus. That was to get the disciples ready to be credible witnesses for him - to help them be able to say ‘We have seen him, we know who he is and we can tell you all about him so you too can believe in him.’ read more...

Mandate for Miracles by Bill Johnson

It is tragic when the high water mark for the Church is our celebration of what is humanly possible...  Once the Spirit of the resurrected Christ took up residence in us, powerlessness became inexcusable. The power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us, longing for expression through the body of the one He rested upon two thousand years ago. He wants to do it all again: this time through millions, not just one. read more...

Jesus is transforming militants in Nigeria!

We are seeing a move of God today in a way and level we have not seen before here in Nigeria. The militants you have heard about over the past few years on TV news have been armed with the latest weapons, bombs, etc. and have kidnapped lots of people, especially foreigners. Three of the former militant leaders came to the Youth With A Mission campus here in Port Harcourt this week and testified of their complete change of heart and life. read more...
